MCC donates medical supplies worth Rs 40 million to PakistanBreaking

BEIJING, Apr 4 (INP): Metallurgical Corporation of China Ltd. (MCC) has donated medical supplies worth Rs. 40 million to Pakistan to fight COVID-19.

According to Gwadar Pro App, the supplies are specially meant for the people of Balochistan to combat the epedemic.

The supplies include 200,000 disposable medical masks, 4,000 cases of nucleic acid testing reagents, 2,000 sets of medical protective clothing, 2,000 pairs of medical gloves, 2,000 pieces of medical goggles, 100 forehead thermometers and so on.

This batch of donations have been packed into 155 boxes, which were collected and prepared by MCC in Beijing and are being delivered to Karachi.

Banners were pasted on each of boxes with a dictum of Muhammad Ali Jinnah – We are not afraid of the deep sea or the fire, because we believe in the sun and the future.

Due to the influence of COVID-19 epidemic, both domestic interprovincial and international transportations of Pakistan have been stuck.

In order to cope with such a situation, MCC arranged and purchased the medical supplies urgently and contacted and communicated with Embassy of Pakistan in China so that the donations could be sent to Pakistan as soon as possible.

Earlier, in addition to this batch of epidemic protection materials, MCC also launched a charity donation activity to local villages in Saindak, Balochistan. This campaign benefited 6 villages.

According to the standard of 25 kilograms of flour, 5 litres of cooking oil, 10 kilograms of rice, 2 kilograms of sugar, various daily necessities were distributed to more than 300 poor families.

Meanwhile, a mobile cabin hospital in Karachi received 600 boxes of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), which were donated by China’s Hunan Anbang Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd (Anbang) for Pakistanis to fight against the COVID-19.

At the donation ceremony, Anbang official introduced that the donated medicine, Yinhuang Qingfei Capsule, has been listed as a recommended TCM in the treatment plan for the COVID-19 by the provincial TCM regulator in Hunan, China.

This capsule is effective  for patients infected with the novel coronavirus, according to Anbang’s chairman Chen Feibao. What’s more, this capsule, the first ever traditional Chinese medicine for bronchitis, passed the clinical trial in Pakistan in 2019 and proved effective for Pakistani patients.

Anbang’s first batch of donation 1,500 boxes of Yinhuang Qingfei Capsule to Pakistan, were sent from Changsha city.

When asked about the reason of donations to Pakistan, Chen said, Anbang, as a pharmaceutical company, has a bounden duty to fight against the virus with Pakistan, who mobilized the whole nation to provide assistance to China, right after the epidemic’s breakout.

Besides the donation to the cabin hospital, with the help of the Chinese Commercial Consul Guo Chunshui, Anbang has also donated 100 and 300 boxes of Yinhuang Qingfei Capsule respectively to the Union of Overseas Chinese in Karachi and the Air Security Force in the city’s airport.
