BEIJING, Oct. 27 (INP): President Mamnoon Hussain congratulated Xi Jinping on his re-election as General Secretary of Communist Party of China. In his message, he said “On behalf of the people and government of Pakistan, and on my own behalf, it is my profound pleasure to congratulate your Excellency on re-election as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC). Under the paramount banner of the Communist Party of China, the brave and resilient people of China have travelled a long journey of historic transformation. At a time when the world is mired in chaos and disorder, with unity of purpose and sense of commitment, the CPC has opened new horizons in the realms of national and global governance. Today, the CPC stands high as the torchbearer of stability, order and endurance. Under the visionary leadership of Your Excellency, China has regained its place as global economic and military power. During the last five years, China has made great strides in all spheres of human endeavor. The achievements of the Chinese people are a source of inspiration and guidance for the developing countries. Your vision of the Belt and Road initiative presents a practical solution to the uncertain global economic and political landscape, of which China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a flagship project. We, the government and people of Pakistan, stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Chinese people to implement the vision of building a community of shared destiny, and to utilize all our resources and efforts to implement the consensus reached between the two brotherly countries. Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.” In a similar message, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi also felicitated Xi Jinping on his re-election as General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. In his felicitation message to Chinese President XI Jinping, the prime minister acknowledged that the world marveled at the generational transformation China has achieved since the initiation of the reforms and opening up process in 1978. China has not only achieved the status of second largest economy of the world but has also realized the miracle of bringing 700 million people out of poverty in a time span of one generation, the prime minister said. He said China’s efforts to realize a just, equitable and harmonious global governance, based on shared prosperity and win-win cooperation, represent the aspirations of the developing world. The Belt and Road initiative and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor are the hallmarks of the spirit of this win-win cooperation, he added. The prime minister underscored that Pakistan-China relationship enjoys full support from all segments of society in Pakistan and added that the people and government of Pakistan stand ready to take our bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to new heights.
