HMC signs BCAs with six Chinese enterprisesBreaking

Islamabad, June 18 (INP): Heave Mechanical Complex (HMC) signed a business cooperation agreements (BCAs) on water conservancy and hydropower with six China-invested enterprises this afternoon, Gwadar Pro reported.

Due to pandemic situation of COVID-19, an online signing ceremony of BCAs was held.  In addition to the chiefs from two companies, both Naghmana Hashmi, the ambassador of Pakistan, and Yao Jing, the ambassador of China, attended this event and portrayed rosy future of bilateral cooperation in conservancy and hydropower.

Meanwhile, Asim Saleem Bajwa, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Chairman of CPEC Authority, Muhammad Naeem, Chairman of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC), attended the online signing ceremony and gave remarks as well.

China Water Resources Beifang Investigation Design &Research Co Ltd. (BIDR) is one of 6 China-invested enterprises. According to a manager of BIDR, HMC and BIDR are seeking further cooperation not only in water conservancy and hydropower, but also in other domains including road and bridge.

The agreement signed today is reckoned as a framework agreement. According to the BCAs, several specific projects will be discussed under the cooperation. BIDR will provide technical assistances to HMC’s projects.

Journalist of Gwadar Pro learned that BIDR is a Chinese company which took part in several hydro projects in Pakistan such as SK and Kohala. Last month, BIDR joined the consulting team of DBD project.

Including BIDR, there were total 6 China-invested enterprises took part in the online signing ceremony and signed BCAs with HMC, the report added.
