CRRC keen to invest in Pakistan under CPECBreaking

BEIJING, Nov 19 (INP): China Railway Rolling Corporation (CRRC) Tangshan has shown keen interest to invest in Pakistan under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) by supplying products and services for Pakistan Railways, Director Overseas Targeted Publicity Corporate Culture Department Hu Rui told media delegation on Monday.

Briefing the media delegation of South Asian and South East Asian countries, Hu Rui told that the CRRC has a great potential and was concentrating on bundle of opportunities to enhance its operations in the countries receiving Chinese investment under Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

She told that the CRRC has already tabled the bid for providing 230 modern coaches to Pakistan which will upgrade the country’s railway.

On the basis of learning from international first-class enterprises for their advanced management ideas and methods, CRRC Tangshan takes standardization construction as the core and adopts five implement approaches including business system optimization, large technical system, large quality system, standardized factory and information conception, said Hu Rui.

CRRC Tangshan which is China’s first railway equipment factory founded in 1881 has created numerous number ones in the industry and left deep front in the history of China’s machinery industry, told Hu Rui.

Today, succeeding to the profundity of vehicle manufacturing of hundreds of years, through continuous innovation and development, the company has successfully built world class platforms for design and manufacturing of railway equipment, forming capacities of volume production for high speed EMUs (Electric Multiple Unit), inter-city train set, mass transit vehicle and full range of railway transport products, added Hu Rui.

She went on to say, the railway vehicle products (family & platform) researched and developed by CRRC Tangshan take the important duty for domestic railway passenger transportation, the products are as the fashion choice of city railway transportation.

She further stated that the products have been exported to more than ten countries in succession, such as Turkey, Argentina etc. The company has already transformed into design and manufacture base for high end rail equipment, becoming “pillars of the great power”. Looking into the future, CRRC Tangshan is stepping forward to become a supplier for “green, intelligent and humanistic” rail transit solution.

In November 2005, CRRC Tangshan received an order to produce Sixty 350-kilometer-per-hour EMU CRH3, making it the first enterprise in Tangshan to produce high-speed bullet train with speed of over 300 km per hour.

During the test run of Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway in 2011, the 380- kilometer-per-hour high-speed EMU CRH380BL manufactured by CRRC Tangshan achieved a speed of 487.3km/h, the maximum speed of railway in test run worldwide.

She also briefed to the journalists that the predecessor of CRRC Tangshan Co., Ltd, Tangshan Rolling Stock Plant, was destroyed in the great earthquake in the summer of 1976.

In 1979, its construction in relocated site was included in the sixth and seventh Five-Year Guideline. In 1995, it became the top 500 largest industrial companies in China.

Today, CRRC Tangshan has formed a spectrum of the products, ranging from EMU with speed of 250 kilometers per hour or above, intercity EMU with speed of 140-250 km per hour, inner-city EMU with speed of 140 kilometers, A-type subway, B-type subway, modern trams, low-speed maglev trains to other railway traffic cars.
