XIAMEN, China, Sept. 15 (INP): The 2018 China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT) has been successfully concluded on Thursday in Xiamen city of China’s Fujian province as some 1,982 projects secured a total investment of 527.5 billion yuan ($76.8 billion) during this trade fair. The 2018 China International Fair for Investment & Trade held under the theme of "implementing the new concept of development, integrating the Belt and Road and facilitating bilateral investment” in Xiamen from Sept 8 to 12. According to the official information released after the conclusion of the fair, more than 120,000 businesspersons from around the world attended the 2018 China International Fair for Investment & Trade. “These businesspeople came from 1,005 industrial and commerce associations and about 5,000 companies representing 128 countries and regions. A total of 617 guests shared their ideas at 87 forums themed on investment promotion and more than 2,500 institutions from home and abroad promoted themselves at the 130,000-square meter exhibition area of the event with 6,000 booths”, it added. The Czech Republic was this year’s guest country of honor while China’s Yunnan province was this year’s guest province of honor, erected a pavilion of 1,000 square meters to introduce its favourable investment climate, green energy, green food and healthy lifestyle. A Maritime Silk Road Countries Pavilion covering 2,000 square meters was established at the 2018 CIFIT, which attracted members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations and more than 20 countries along the Belt and Road route, including Pakistan, Jordan, and Spain. Online CIFIT, launched this year, attracted approximately 1,000 renowned Chinese companies to sign up for its project matchmaking activities, including information technology, new energy, equipment manufacturing and other seven popular industrial sectors, it added. Meanwhile, Director General of Xiamen Conference and Exhibition Bureau Wang Qiongwen informed the journalists that the there were 6,000 exhibition places in 16 professional exhibition areas, such as Investment China, Invest International, Exhibition Area for Talents Projects, Healthy Industry Fair, E-Commerce Traiting and import Commodity Fair, China Emerging Industry Investment&Financing Fair and others. He added that CIFIT has become not only a global investment promotion platform but also a global capital flow weathervane and investment information dispersion and it is also creating opportunities for the developing countries like Pakistan to promote their bilateral trade with participating countries. More than 30,000 projects have signed up for the fair in Xiamen from September 8 to 11 since 1997 and more than 340 billion dollars has been invested in China from the CIFIT over the past 20 years. A large number of Chinese enterprises from the "CIFIT" went to the world, he added.
