BEIJING Sep 11 (INP): Media summit being held here and participated by the journalists from China, Pakistan and South Asian countries praised high Pakistan solid contribution in promoting Belt and Road initiative (BRI) hoping it will lead to improvement of livelihood of the common people, as well as ensuring peace and stability in the region. The summit arranged by People’s Daily in collaboration with Tsinghua University placed on record Pakistan’s initial contribution towards BRI through smooth execution of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) .While addressing the summit, a top financial Chinese expert Dr. Cao Yuanzheng said that Pakistan is a best example of promoting peoples’ livelihood through BRI, as per the vision of President Xi Jinping. While underlying the important geo-strategic position of Pakistan in the region, he hoped that successful implementation of CPEC will also help to improve peace and stability in the region. Dr. Cao noted that CPEC is a pilot and major project of BRI that has set the direction of meeting the future challenges towards the socio economic progress at international level through the collaborative partnership and win-win cooperation. Giving a comprehensive talk on BRI and the rise of great power, Dr Cao said China was pursuing global agenda of win-win situation for all the relevant countries situated on Silk Road. BRI is an agenda of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation that aimed at serving the cause of entire humanity . Through the BRI, China has taken the responsibility of providing financial and infrastructure support to ensure a better future at World. China is making huge financial investment through various means to develop basic infrastructure like energy resources in the member countries who have signed the BRI . Pakistan is the major beneficiary of it, he added. Dr Cao believed that BRI would also help to eradicate starvation, hunger, poverty and social injustice that will be helpful developing conducive and friendly environment. This is the best way to overcome social evils like terrorism and extremism He also spoke about China’s economic miracles stating that over the past 35 years, China lifted its 1.3 billion population out of extreme poverty and gradual steps towards a moderately well-off society, creating an economic miracle in the history of mankind. International economists believe that Chinese economic miracles have been achieved through high speedy growth and coordinated economic and social development. In nature, the reform and opening up is a process of China’s economy entering into economic globalization. Dr. Cao said that China at its own has assumed the historical undertaking of economic globalization. INP/AH
