Rain, windstorm lash many cities of PunjabBreaking

Heavy rain turned weather pleasant in different cities of Punjab including provincial capital Lahore on Monday. In Lahore, mercury declined after rain, and cold winds began to blow in the city. The temperature in the city was recorded at 21 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in the city was expected to hover around 23 degrees Celsius and the minimum 17 degrees Celsius.

In Renala Khurd, weather turned cold and pleasant and gusty winds began to blow in the city after rain. The standing wheat crop was feared to be damaged by the rain. In Toba Tek Singh, heavy rainfall reduced the mercury to 16 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature in the city is likely to hover around 28 degrees Celsius.

In Mailsi, thick clouds hovered above the city and light rain fell, posing a threat to the standing wheat crop. Power supply in the suburbs of Mailsi city was also suspended amid rain. In Okara, the low-lying areas were inundated after heavy rainfall in the city. Strong winds blew following the rain, and power supply was suspended in many areas. The rain also posed threat to the wheat crop.

Rain also reduced mercury in other cities including Nankana Sahib, Shahkot, Farooqabad, Kanganpur, Sahiwal, Hujra Shah Muqeem, Pakpattan, Sarai Mughal, Shorkot and Jahanian. Other cities including Haveli Lakha, Jalalpur Bhattian, Mananwala, Malakwal, Kaleke Mandi city, Sargodha, Rangpur and Layyah also experienced light and heavy rain. Cold winds blew after rains and the weather became pleasant for the fasting people. The Agriculture Department asked the farmers to remove the rainwater immediately if it has accumulated in the wheat fields.
