Convener, World Minorities Alliance (WMA) and former Federal Minister for Population Welfare, Julius Salik on Tuesday urged the Prime Minister to take Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s statement seriously about country’s economic default and declare a nationwide emergency week to join heads to overcome this situation.

The Convener WMA made these remarks during a telephonic conversation with Senior Leader, Muttahida Qoumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Dr Farooq Sattar. J Salik suggested that Pakistan Emergency Week should be declared and all other social, political and other activities should be halted and focus should be made on bringing the country out of default situation.

“The nation should join heads to end country’s debts and work out a way out to pull out the country from this weak economic situation,” he said.  Khawaja Asif Defence Minister in his statement claimed that the country has gone default, the Prime Minister should either condemn or accept Khawaja Asif’s statement, he added.
