PM Shehbaz Sharif leaves on two-day official visit of UAEBreaking

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday left Islamabad for the UAE on a two-day official visit. Shehbaz Sharif was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including key members of his cabinet. The prime minister was paying the visit at the invitation of United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. During the visit, Shehbaz Sharif will meet the UAE president to discuss matters related to advancing economic, trade and investment ties between the two brotherly countries and creating increased opportunities for Pakistani workforce in the UAE.

The prime minister will also meet the UAE Prime Minister and Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum. During the meetings with the Emirati businessmen and investors, the prime minister will discuss ways to enhance bilateral trade and investment. The UAE is home to around 1.7 million Pakistanis who have been playing a pivotal role in the success story of the UAE, for the last five decades, contributing to the progress, prosperity and economic development of the two countries. This is the third visit of Shehbaz Sharif to the UAE after assuming the office of prime minister.

It may be mentioned here that Army Chief General Asim Munir had detailed talks with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday in Abu Dhabi. Earlier, chairing a review meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday regarding his UAE visit, Shehbaz Sharif had said Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have ample opportunities of cooperation in diverse sectors, including trade, economy, and investment. He said both the countries are keen to strengthen the brotherly relations. He said Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates want to take the relations to new heights.
