Awami Muslim League chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has said that 240 million people have become conscious now, and the palace of their (rulers) dreams will be shattered soon. In his message on the social networking site Twitter, Mr Rasheed said Shehbaz Sharif, during his Peshawar visit, had said that corruption and bribery were rampant in Pakistan and said people themselves had to fix the issues and they should not rely upon prime minister for that. He (Shehbaz Sharif) said he was endeavoring to save the country, the AML head said and added, but actually he was trying to close his corruption cases and left the peoples uffering and languishing due to inflation and unemployment.
Mr Rasheed said on the day the prime minister was to be indicted he took oath as PM. They got the laws passed from an assembly which they often called fake and bogus. He said August 12 was the incumbent government's last day in power. The former interior minister said most important judgments of the Supreme Court would be coming soon which could shock the rulers. He said political death of 13 political parties had been happened. He was of the view that present era was the worst era of democracy. “This is not a democracy, this is a dark age of coercion. Sanctity of the four walls, constitution, law and judiciary has been violated openly and blatantly. “They cannot ban a party as per their own wishes without approval of the Supreme Court,” said Mr Rashid.
He said, “It (PDM) is an unnatural alliance of 13 parties which will dismember before elections”. “No matter how they hold elections, they cannot crush the sentiments of 240 million people,” he said. The economic and political situation of Pakistan could not be improved without help of Almighty Allah and the people.
