The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday ordered traffic police to fine motorcyclists Rs5,000 for not wearing a helmet. During the hearing of a case related to smog control, the LHC ordered traffic police and the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to hold an event of cycling at Main Boulevard in Lahore’s Gulberg on Sunday. “The principal of MAO College should lead the cycling event, and students should participate in it,” Justice Shahid Karim remarked. The court also expressed indignation over traffic jams. It ordered to amend the traffic laws and take stern action against those who do not wear a helmet while riding a motorcycle.
