Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar held an important meeting with President Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday. Sources said that Ishaq Dar met with President Alvi on the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The sources further revealed that Ishaq Dar discussed the issue of appointment of new army chief with President Arif Alvi.

It may be mentioned here that Ishaq Dar also held important meetings with leaders of government’s allied parties on Thursday. The finance minister had called on PPP Co-Chairman and former president Asif Zardari at the Zardari House in Islamabad. Ishaq Dar conveyed Nawaz Sharif's message to Asif Zardari.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also present in the meeting that took up the ongoing political situation and national issues. Also, the finance minister met PDM President and JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and conveyed the message of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to the latter.

Ishaq Dar met the Maulana along with a delegation of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz PML-N and discussed the country’s current economic and political situation and also exchanged thoughts about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s march. The meeting was held at the residence of Maulana Fazl’s residence in Islamabad. Ayaz Sadiq and Khawaja Saad Rafique were a part of the delegation.
