Imran Khan challenges trial court’s Toshakhana decision in IHCBreaking

Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan on Tuesday filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court challenging the decision of a trial court regarding admissibility of the Toshakhana case. According to the petition, the Election Commission of Pakistan did not file its complaint regarding Toshakhana case within 120 days. The ECP did not follow the legal procedure while sending the case to the trial court, the petition further says. The petitioner said that the trial court’s decision that the Toshakhana case is admissible, against law.

 He requested the court to declare the trial court’s decision null and void. PTI chief skips court date in five terror cases Separately, the PTI chairman did not appear before the anti-terrorism court in the federal capital in five terrorism cases including a case related to an attack on Islamabad Judicial Complex. ATC Judge Abul Hasnaat heard the case. During the hearing, lawyer Sardar Masroof said that his client got aware of his summoning by the court through media last night and he could not appear before the court.

 The lawyer requested the court to give another date for hearing. Accepting his plea, the judge adjourned the hearing of two cases registered at Ramna police station till July 13. He fixed hearing of a case registered at Golra police station on July 14. The court will hear cases registered at CTD and Sangjani police stations on July 20 and July 21, respectively.
