Former Supreme Court judge Qazi Amin Ahmed dies of heart attackBreaking

Former judge of Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice (retired) Qazi Muhammad Amin Ahmed died of heart attack in Rawalpindi. He was 66 on Wednesday. Qazi Amin’s Namaz-i-Janaza will be offered at Phase-4 of Bahria Town in Rawalpindi at 6:00 pm today. Qazi Amin had been elevated to the Supreme Court in April 2019 and he had retired in March 2022. Qazi Amin, who hailed from Chakwal, had been under treatment at Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology for the last many days.

 Qazi Amin was born on 26th March 1957 in Chakwal. He completed early education from Government High School and Government Degree College Chakwal. He obtained a law degree from the University Law College in1980 and was enrolled as Advocate in 1981. He joined a doctoral programme in Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam and completed collateral programmes in International Law and International Relations at the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague in 1985.

 Qazi Amin started law practice in the year 1986. He enrolled as Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan in 1997. He remained member of visiting faculty of International Islamic University Islamabad from 1986 to 1991. He remained Member Punjab Bar Council from 2000 to 2004. He served as Additional Advocate General for Punjab from September 2007 to June 2009, Qazi Amin Ahmed was elevated as judge of the Lahore High Court on 7th November 2014 and took oath of office as judge Supreme Court of Pakistan on 24 April 2019.
