Punjab caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Monday visited the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) where he inspected the emergency wards, inquired after patients’ health and also reviewed the treatment facilities there. Mohsin Naqvi inquired from patients about the facilities of heart bypass and angiography. He took notice of the shortage of angioplasty guiding catheters in the hospital and directed the health secretary for immediate provision of angioplasty guiding catheters.
Mohsin Naqvi also reviewed the provision of primary angiography facility for cardiac patients and observed the cleanliness arrangements in the PIC. “Despite a large number of patients, doctors and paramedical staff are working hard to serve the suffering humanity,” the CM said and added that the treatment facilities would be further improved in the PIC. “Instructions have been issued to the health secretary to address the shortage of angioplasty guiding catheters in the PIC,” he added.
