A Lahore anti-terrorism court has extended PTI leader Asad Umar’s interim bail till June 13 in a case pertaining to vandalism at Lahore’s Askari Tower. Accepting Umar’s bail plea against surety bonds worth Rs100,000, the court ordered him to join the investigation. During the hearing presided by Judge Ejaz Ahmad Buttar Umar’s counsel told the court that on the date of the incident mentioned in the case, his client was in Islamabad and had no involvement in the alleged offence. In a short interaction with reporters, referring to a recent press conference by ex-PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry, Umar clarified he was “not active in what Fawad is doing”.
