Pakistan envoy to Vietnam and Laos Samina Mehtab has invited Vietnamese tourists to visit Pakistan for a wonderful, adventurous and enlightening experience, and its business community to invest in the hospitality and tourism sector on a business-to-business (B2B) basis. She made the remarks while speaking at the opening ceremony of the 16th International Travel Expo being held in Ho Chi Minh city as part of the 75-year celebrations of Pakistan’s independence and Golden Jubilee of Pakistan-Vietnam diplomatic ties, according to a press statement received by WealthPK.
Representatives of Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan and Pakistan Association of Tour Operators were also participating in the expo. Pakistan embassy’s commercial secretary Ali Qayyum Raja also accompanied her. Pakistani tour operators, including Legend Hotels and Resorts led by managing director Azeem Qureshi, Zoon Safaris, Hunza Explorers, and Saltoro Summits Treks and Tours led by managing director Karrar Haidri, showcased their tour products in the event.
The Pakistani tour operators had various B2B meetings with their counterparts in Vietnam as well as with numerous international buyers. Talking to media persons and different delegates at the event, Samina Mehtab highlighted that Pakistan has vast potential in various sectors, particularly in the tourism sector, as the country has inherited a multitude of archaeological sites, most notably the Buddhist sites.
“Pakistan remains the seat of Buddhism, which is evident from its spectacular remnants of Ghandhara civilisation all over the country.”
