According to a press release, the federal government has extended subsidies to customers registered with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), whose poverty index score is PMT-32 or whose monthly income is Rs29,000 or less.

All such consumers will get wheat flour at Rs400 per 10kg bag, ghee at Rs300 per kg and sugar Rs70 per kg. A Rs15 to Rs20 per kg subsidy will be given on pulses and rice. Wheat flour will be available at Rs400 per 10kg bag at the flour sales points and mobile utility stores established for the poor in remote and backward areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the special orders of the prime minister.

Such consumers will get ghee at Rs375 per kg compared with Rs410 to Rs440 per kg in the open market. Sugar will be provided at Rs89 per kg compared to its open market price of Rs95 to Rs105 per kg.
