ISLAMABAD, Oct 03 (INP): Sarhad University of Science and Information Technology (SUIT, Peshawar, is organizing a three-day, first Euro-Pak International Conference on mainly three subjects including sports, sciences and physical education from Oct 06 to 08, 2017 in Islamabad, which is part of a joint venture with the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Abdul Wali Khan University, Mardan, European Network INSHS, Arab-German Network ICSSPE, Otto-von-Guericke University, Germany, Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. This was stated by Vice Chancellor SUIT, Prof. Dr. Salim-ur-Rehman while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday. Officer bearers of Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan, Dr. Muhammad Farooq and Dr. Zahoor ul were also present on the occasion. “Experts from thirteen countries including Germany, France, Egypt, Hungary, Colombia, Czech Republic China are participating conference”, He said adding “Over 400 scholars right from Khyber to Karachi and Kashmir to Turbat are also participating in the event”, he elaborated. Dr. Salim-ur-Rehman informed that prior to the conference, two workshops are also being organized ahead on October 4, 2017 i.e. ‘Training Workshop for Special Persons’ to be conducted by Prof. Dr. Joel Gaillard, University of Lorraine, Nancy, France who is also visiting Pakistan for the purpose. Dr. Joel Gaillard from France is General Manager of International Network on Sports and Health Sciences (INSHS) and Focal Person of Special Education in the European Union. Prof. Dr. Salim-ur-Rehman said that the second workshop is on ‘The Role of Educational Institutions’ for the promotion of Physical Education in line with National Education Policy 2009. Eminent scholars and sports scientists are to participate in the workshop highlighting the new trends in the world. The VC SUIT said that this is first ever effort in the history of Pakistan with an initiative of holding such a prestigious conference on sports sciences and physical education having 13 International Scientists and Sports Sciences Researcher from all over the world. It is matter of great pleasure to announce that all of them have completed their visa, ticketing process and reaching Islamabad on 4th and 5th October 2017. Prof Dr. Salim-ur-Rehman said that the conference is aimed at bringing together leading scientists, scholars, researcher, experts and leaders of sports and sports sciences from around the world to share and discuss both theoretical and practical knowledge about sports and sports science. The conference will be focusing on current sports and health related issues confronting the community for all ages and would propose the viable recommendations and workable strategies. “We believe with their support and help we would be suggesting a way forward in the promotion of sports and sports sciences”, he added. International keynote speakers would be bringing the research initiative and studies they conducted and carried out in USA, Europe, Asia and Africa to promoting their sports, making awareness and strengthening their physical education curriculum in the schools and colleges and addressing issues for reshaping life style, he maintained. He disclosed that over 80 research papers/ articles have been received from Pakistan and abroad which would be presented in the conference. INP/SB/AJ
