A tripartite service-level agreement has been signed with Sindh Bank Limited to facilitate the people of Sindh province in obtaining e-Stamps from the nearest places to their homes.

The e-Stamping system envisages online generation and printing of stamp duty challan from the e-Stamping portal as well as the issuance of e-stamp papers from the designated branches of Sindh Bank Limited and National Bank of Pakistan.

The agreement has been signed by the Board of Revenue Sindh, the Punjab Information Technology Board and Sindh Bank Limited, a press release received by WealthPK said. The agreement will enable Sindh Bank to receive payments against online Challan No 32-A and issue e-Stamps from its designated branches throughout Sindh.

Based on the details entered by the purchaser, the system will automatically calculate the value of the stamp paper.

The e-Stamps system was formally inaugurated by the Sindh chief minister on May 10 this year, and the service was initially launched from the designated branches of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) across Sindh. After signing the agreement with the Sindh Bank people will be able to get e-Stamps from their nearest branches of Sindh Bank besides the NBP branches will also continue to issue e-Stamps.

Minister for Revenue, Makhdoom Mehboob-uz-Zaman while presiding over the ceremony said, the world has entered a new era and the government is striving to strengthen its institutions to keep pace with the world too. “E-Stamping is an effort in this direction.”

He said, “Well-being of the people of Sindh is at the heart of all policies of the Sindh government, which is determined to implement citizen-centric policies to improve the lives of the people and the e-Stamping initiatives of Board of Revenue, Sindh is aligned to achieve this goal.”

The minister said the issuance of e-Stamps from Sindh Bank will reduce the burden on the NBP branches.

Sindh Bank President & Chief Executive Officer Imran Samad expressed the resolve of his bank to meet the expectations of the Sindh government regarding e-Stamping.

The State Bank of Pakistan has approved Sindh Bank as its agent for the collection of government receipts and recently an agency agreement was signed with it.
