Meta is working with the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF) – the training arm of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) – to train and upskill Pakistani women entrepreneurs, reports WealthPK. The initiative is a part of Meta's flagship women empowerment programme “SheMeansBusiness”. A series of online training sessions have been conducted to upskill 3,000 women entrepreneurs who are members of NIBAF's National Financial Literacy Program for Youth (NFLP-Y).

In an interview with WealthPK, Miss Nadia Naveed, Principal of Government Vocational Training for Women, said, “women make up more than 45.5% of our population. In such situation, the success of our women is so important for the economic development of our country. Women entrepreneurship is now considered an important tool for economic growth in a country”. “The women of our country are very hardworking and skilled.

There are many women from our institution who have learned skills and today they are successful entrepreneurs,” said Nadia. Appreciating the NIBAF program, she said, “such programs boost the morale of our women. They encourage them to refine their skills and emerge as successful women. Our women are very hardworking and skilled. They only thing they lack is a channel that can help them polish their skills and guide them about how to make their skills more efficient”.

Nadia said digital and new technologies provide limitless prospects for respectable and sustainable occupations, but most importantly, women must utilize the technology to develop their own businesses in order to creatively address social problems. “Our women are talented but they lack access to modern innovations and technology to match the current industry.

The government should encourage women entrepreneurs so that they can improve their financial and digital skills and come out as the best entrepreneurs,’’ said Nadia. According to WealthPK, female entrepreneurship is a key factor in promoting economic growth. The program's principal goal is to improve financial education for women and assist them in building their enterprises in order to enhance their socioeconomic status.

SheMeansBusiness has been there to help women entrepreneurs whether they operate from home or expand into new markets. The three-day workshop is designed to help female entrepreneurs gain new digital skills that will help them improve the sustainability and durability of their enterprises.
