SHANGHAI, April 27 (Xinhua) -- The tourism revenue of Shanghai International Resort, home to Shanghai Disneyland, exceeded 10 billion yuan (1.4 billion U.S. dollars) in 2019, up 17 percent compared with the previous year, the resort said Sunday.
Opened in 2016, the resort has attracted 66 million tourists over the past four years, according to a statement issued by the resort.
Last year, the resort held events including two music festivals and X Games, an extreme sports event hosted, produced and broadcast by ESPN.
Construction of a Zootopia-themed land of Shanghai Disneyland also started last year.
As the novel coronavirus epidemic has waned in China, 317 enterprises in the resort have resumed operation so far, with major sites including Disneytown, Wishing Star Park and Shanghai Disneyland Hotel that reopened in March, according to the resort. ■
