Sale of Motorcycles Goes up in Fy22

ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (INP-WealthPK): The number of motorcycles and rickshaws sold during the first four months (July-October) of fiscal year 2021-22 rose to 628,242 compared to 624,818 units sold in the same period of 2020-21, showing a growth of 1.32%, data released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) shows. The first four months of this fiscal saw Honda motorcycles sale going up by 7.68% to 435,072 units from 404,005 units sold during the same period of last year. The sale of Suzuki motorcycles also rose by 75.93% to 11,661 units from 6,628 units. Similarly, the sale of Yamaha motorbikes also went up from 6,823 units to 8,098 units witnessing an increase of 18.68%. However, the sale of Road Prince motorbikes posted a sharp decline of 14.01% going down from 51,099 units of last year to 43,940 units this year. Similarly, the sales of United Auto motorcycles also declined by 13.97% from 134,120 units produced during the first four months of the lats fiscal to 115,374 units produced in the same period of this year. Meanwhile, the sale of Road Prince three-wheelers registered a decrease of 23.55% as 3,128 units were produced during the period under review of this fiscal compared to 4,092 units produced in the four months of last year. Sale of Sazgar three-wheeler also went down by 39.92% to 3,243 units from 5,224 units. Likewise, sale of Qingqi three-wheelers registered a decrease of 31.02% going down from the last year’s 6,840 units to 4,718 units this year. Sale of United Auto rickshaws also declined by 57.56% from 2,821 units produced in four months of 2020-21 to 1,197 units produced in the same period of 2021-22.
