April 19, 2022

By Muhammad Soban ISLAMABAD, April 19 (INP-WealthPK): Robotmea has been trying to transform the Pakistani education system to create an environment of innovation, critical thinking, entrepreneurship, and a knowledge-based economy. Robotmea is a Dubai-based technology company that is currently providing services in Middle East, Africa, and Pakistan. The company helps young minds of the 21st century by shaping their skills set through the platforms of innovation and creativity. It is introducing robotics kits integrated with the existing science and mathematics kits from grades six to eight. Syed Burhan Ali, CEO of Robotmea Pakistan, said at an event organized by the company that Robotmea is a game-changer for Pakistan. “The Government of Pakistan and Robotmea are collaborating to transform the education system in Pakistan. It is transforming the traditional theoretical classes of science and mathematics with more practical and advanced procedures through project-based inquiry learning,” he said. Robotmea is helping the students establish the consolidating industry and academia linkages. It provides international platforms for students to experience a rapidly changing world. It also helps education institutions by providing innovative platforms for reforming education. Robotmea Pakistan is the subsidiary of Robotmea International and has been conducting an annual evaluation in different leading education institutes in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. “Robotmea’s Research and Curriculum Wing (RCW) conducts annual evaluation and monitoring visits to various campuses with the aim to monitor and evaluate the teachers’ performance and see the quality of Robotmea’s established discoveries and innovation labs,” he said. The Robotmea annual evaluation and monitoring team has assessed the campuses on the standards through robotics mapped out by the company’s international trainers and experts in order to evaluate teachers and to train them on international benchmarks. The same rubrics shall be used to cover the gaps identified by the RCW in order to improvise the overall program and for the announcement of the best teacher and best principal awards. During the annual evaluation and monitoring, it has been observed that students are highly involved in learning and trying to relate their projects with real-life scenarios. Irum Baber, Senior Academic Coordinator of Islamabad Science School and College, said inclusion of robotics in the school curriculum has brought a bright change. “It’s a very motivational program that was launched two years ago. Students are enjoying learning robotic technologies,” she said. “The integration of technology with the creative convergence of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) education framework is the need of the hour to transform the future generations towards wisdom-driven economies,” she added. Syeda Sumera, Principal of the AFS School System, said, “Our vision is to provide education through concept-based teaching and learning. STEAM is a pathway that provides students a direction to know their innovative and critical thinking skills. By going through the STEAM curriculum, we provide activity-based learning in the form of robotics.” She said the convergence of robotics with the STEAM education framework provides a platform for producing young innovators, critical thinkers, and entrepreneurs to transmute the nation towards an innovation-led entrepreneurial society. The vision of Robotmea is to reshape the future generations of Pakistan towards innovation and entrepreneurship. A recently signed agreement with the Federal Directorate of Education, Ministry of Education and Professional Training under the Knowledge Economy initiative is an ample proof of it. This venture for integrating STEAM into the schooling landscape will help transform the future generations towards the fourth industrial revolution and cyber-physical system.
