Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce, Investment and Skills Development Department S M Tanveer has pledged that the province will soon conduct a feasibility study for the construction of an industrial estate in the Islamabad region. Speaking to a delegation from the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI), he praised the chamber's efforts to create an industrial estate in the Islamabad region. He also said that a team from the Punjab government will soon be dispatched to assess the area.

In order to discuss the important challenges facing the business community, Tanveer said he planned to have a roundtable discussion with the Punjabi chambers of commerce and industry. He also promised to invite the ICCI to provide feedback. Tanveer asserted that the ICCI should take the lead in resolving the concerns of the business sector because it represents the federal capital. He emphasised that the business community should provide specific suggestions that may be implemented to assist address problems and promote the expansion of commercial operations.

According to ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, who spoke earlier on the occasion, a new industrial zone is a crucial prerequisite for the establishment of numerous potential investors' businesses in Islamabad. In order to help the ICCI put up the project, he pleaded with the Punjab government to allot adequate property in a location with easy access to the twin cities. According to him, the industrial zone would raise exports, spur industrialisation, bring in more tax money and boost employment in the area. The ICCI president also emphasised the significance of consistent government policies for foreign investment in the country.
