ISLAMABAD, Jul 20: The Punjab government has launched a project to facilitate and protect tourists in the province. Under the 'Tourist Guide Training Project' launched by the Punjab Tourism Department, initially 106 tourist guides including women will work in three regions. In line with the project, multiple trainings would be provided to tourist guides which will help enhance their capacity and equip them with latest skills to better serve the tourists in the whole province.
Punjab Tourism Department Secretary Ehsan Bhutta told INP-WealthPK that the provincial government is playing a significant role in promoting tourism by providing assistance, protection and facilities to the tourists. He said that the tourist force would be given motorcycles and cars for use in patrolling. They will also be trained to serve as guides and educate visitors about the history of popular recreation and tourist destinations.
Ehsan Bhutta said the tourism force in Punjab will also raid hotels and eateries that defraud tourists. According to him, the tourism force would be expanded as the initiative meets success. He stated that a pamphlet-based awareness campaign would also be conducted for the instruction of tourists.
