Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the relevant authorities to speed up the privatisation of the public sector units, recommended by the Privatisation Board. Presiding over a review meeting to talk about the privatisation process, he stated the government favoured the privatisation of the public sector enterprises.

He gave the order to carry out the privatisation of public sector units recommended by the Privatisation Board in a transparent manner and in accordance with the best global standards. He emphasised that transparency must be given top attention during the privatisation process. Ministers from the federal government and other pertinent officials attended the meeting.
