ISLAMABAD, Aug 17 (INP): Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal has said that political stability and continuity of policies was prerequisites for sustainable development. He was addressing Pakistan Development Summit and Expo in Islamabad on Thursday morning. The Minister said all countries that reached the zenith of development had long patches of political stability and continuity of policies. Ahsan Iqbal emphasized that we should shift our focus from geo-politics to geo-economics to put Pakistan on the path of rapid socio-economic growth and prosperity. He said even security of the country was deeply linked to the economy and therefore, we would have to change our narrative for a better future. Addressing the forum, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Sartaj Aziz said the present Government believed that benefits of economic growth must be shared by all segments of society especially the marginalized groups. He said the Vision 2025 prioritized investment in human capital and social services to help realize this objective. Sartaj Aziz said more than eight million Pakistanis working abroad had proven that they were from an industrious and hardworking nation. INP/LK/AH
