PFA seals factory for producing substandard marmalade

LAHORE, Aug 20 (INP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) sealed a factory for producing substandard marmalade, poor hygienic condition and seized thousands of kilogram of raw material. Under the supervision of Director General (DG) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, PFA team raided a factory near Shahdara area in the provincial capital Lahore. During raid huge quantity of substandard marmalade and over 26,000 kilograms raw material was recovered. The DG PFA said that rotten fruits and prohibited chemicals were being used in making marmalade. The PFA seized the recovered marmalade, raw material, sealed the factory and after registering a case against the owner and employees of the factory, started an investigation. INP/SB/AH
