The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved seven development schemes in various sectors at an estimated cost of Rs 9.63 billion.
The approved development schemes during the current fiscal year included the promotion of Gram Cultivation through Climate Smart Technologies in Thal areas of Punjab at a cost of Rs. 1,255.005 million; construction of a bridge and approach road to the car parking at the Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi Bench, Rawalpindi at a cost of Rs. 889.869 million; rehabilitation/improvement of 7.5 km road from Sambrial Dry Port Chowk to Sial Airport in District Sialkot (Revised) at a cost of Rs. 732.75 million; feasibility study, Integrated Development Planning and revamping of Data Darbar Complex in Lahore (PC-II) at a cost of Rs. 80.10 million; establishment of PMU (Annual Expenditure) at a cost of Rs. 596.40 million; technical assistance for Punjab Affordable Housing Programme at a cost of Rs. 3,000 million; and rehabilitation /improvement of 17.20 km Wazirabad- Sialkot- Kashmir road section [KM No. 8.80 (Pakki Garhi) to KM No. 26.00 (UC Canal)] in District Sialkot at a cost of Rs. 3,077.16 million.
The meeting was presided over by Chairman of Planning and Development Board Abdullah Khan Sumbal. It was attended by Provincial Secretary Planning and Development Board, Dr. Muhammad Sohail Anwar Chaudhry, all members of the board, provincial secretaries of departments concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments.
