Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) has disbursed an amount of Rs9.269 billion among 1.099 million beneficiaries under the Individual Financial Assistance (IFA) programme during the period from July 2019 till December 1, 2022. Out of the total amount, Rs2.213 billion has been disbursed among 24,400 beneficiaries belonging to Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Rs3.46 billion among 41,521 beneficiaries of Punjab province, and Rs1.28 billion among 15,489 beneficiaries of Sindh province.

According to information available with WealthPK, the PBM disbursed Rs1.886 billion among 21,557 beneficiaries of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, Rs312.58 million among 4,590 beneficiaries of Balochistan and Rs111.715 million among 2,378 beneficiaries of Gilgit-Baltistan. Under the IFA program, the PBM is providing financial assistance to the marginalised segments in different sectors including education, medical, people with disabilities and general category.

From July 2019 till December 1, 2022, the IFA has utilised Rs545.54 million to support 19,497 beneficiaries in the education sector, while Rs8.096 billion has been disbursed to provide medical assistance to 54,960 beneficiaries. The IFA has benefited 17,544 persons with disabilities through spending Rs240.502 million, while 17,935 beneficiaries were given assistance worth Rs386.765 million in the general category. Through the IFA, the PBM supports the poor, widows, destitute women, orphans, and persons with disabilities through general assistance, education, medical treatment and rehabilitation.

The objective behind this initiative includes fulfillment of the immediate needs of the poor, provision of medical treatment of major ailments and disabilities to the poor patients, ensuring economic empowerment through rehabilitation, and provision of education stipends to deserving and brilliant students of educational and technical institutions in the public sector.
