ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (INP): Chairman, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) Dr. Nadeem Amjad has said that the Council is the apex national organization working in close collaboration with other federal, provincial institutions in the country to provide science based solutions to agriculture of Pakistan through its statutory functions. Chairing a meeting at PARC Headquarters (HQs) on Wednesday, Dr. Nadeem Amjad said that the PARC has introduced a number of new innovations and technologies and transferring it to farmer’s doors for development of agriculture sector in Pakistan and to achieve the goal of national food security on sustainable basis. He said that use of these latest technologies by farmers as a result increasing agricultural productivity in the country. He urged the scientist to continue their efforts of dissemination of new research results at farmers doorsteps. Speaking on the occasion, Director General (DG) of National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Dr. Muhammad Azeem Khan highlighted PARC technologies which have recently been introduced and transferred to farmers such as new wheat and maize varieties, olive plantation, soybean cultivation, solar dryer technology for dates and banana, solar pumping system for tube well and research on biotechnology use in agriculture & livestock, training of farmers of Balochistan and other areas of Pakistan and many other new initiatives for the improvement of agriculture sector in Pakistan.
