The export of different items from Pakistan to the Netherland, Germany and Spain surged by 23%, 18% and 35%, respectively, in the second month of the current financial year as compared to the corresponding period of last fiscal, WealthPK reports.
The data of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan shows that the Netherland remained the top export destination in Europe for Pakistani goods in the second month of the current fiscal. The volume of export items from Pakistan to the Netherland reached $150.30 million in August 2022, showing an increase of 23% against $121.96 million in August 2021.
Data from the UN Trade database on international trade shows that major export items from Pakistan to the Netherland include textile articles, sets and worn clothing, articles of apparel, cotton and cereal.
Major import items from the Netherland include mineral fuels, oils, distillation products, machinery, nuclear reactor, boilers, cereal, flour, starch, milk preparation products, iron, steel and organic chemicals.
Exports from Pakistan to Germany grew by 18% and reached $143.08 million in August 2022 as compared to $120.84 million in the same month of the previous financial year. During this period, trade was in Pakistan’s favour. The Trade surplus was recorded at $73.47 million.
Major export items from Pakistan to Germany include textile articles, sets, worn clothing, articles of apparel, leather items, animal guts, harness and travel goods. Pakistan’s imports from Germany include machinery, nuclear reactor, boilers, pharmaceutical products, electrical and electronic equipment, miscellaneous products and organic chemicals.
The export of different goods from Pakistan to Spain reached $135.30 million in August 2022 against $100.18 million in the same month of the previous fiscal, showing a growth of 35%.
Major export items from Pakistan to Spain include textile products, cotton, beverages, spirits and vinegar, articles of leather and cereals. Import items from Spain to Pakistan include pharmaceutical products, mineral fuels, oils, distillation products, machinery, nuclear, boilers, iron, steel and cotton.
The report of TDAP shows that the Netherland remained the top trading partner of Pakistan in Europe during the second month of the current fiscal, followed by Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium and France.
Moreover, exports to Italy grew by 21% and reached $106.52 million in August 2022. Exports to Belgium increased by 4% and reached $54.63 million. In addition, exports to France surged by 33% and reached $45.83 million, said the report, available with WealthPK.
