A meeting between Pakistan’s federal finance and revenue minister and the World Bank country director has focused on the progress and prior actions to be met for the timely completion of loan programmes.
Federal Minister Miftah Ismail was briefed on the progress in the second Resilient Institutions for Sustainable Economy (RISE-II) and the second Programme for Affordable Energy (PACE-II). He met World Bank country director Najy Benhassine and Programme Leader Energy WB Teuta Kacaniku at the Finance Division.
The minister gave the officials his approval for accelerating all initiatives’ progress and directed that all earlier tasks necessary for the PACE-II and RISE-II programmes be finished. The World Bank staff was thanked for their ongoing assistance and facilitation.
Attending the meeting were senior executives from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Energy Division, and the Finance Division. The government anticipates receiving $450 million for the RISE-II policy loan for budgetary support, while the Washington-based lender may approve $600 million for Pakistan’s PACE-II programme.
