Pakistan to Set up Virtual Pavilion at 4th China International Import Expo

By Omer Bilal ISLAMABAD, October 28 (INP-WealthPK): Pakistan Pavilion will be established online at the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE), scheduled to be held in Shanghai from November 5th to 10th. Organizers of the world’s largest import expo are making final preparations for the event, by setting up booths and arranging displays. The CIIE management says 150 batches of CIIE exhibits have arrived in Shanghai. The first group of exhibitors has landed at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre, Shanghai. A number of briefing sessions related to the overall conduct of the expo have concluded successfully. Ambassador of Pakistan to China, H.E.Moin ul Haque, will lead the Pakistani delegation at the opening ceremony of the Expo. A number of Pakistani exhibitors, who are already in China, have accelerated preparations to participate in the upcoming Expo. Pakistan will showcase famous household gadgets to the Chinese market during the mega event. The Pakistani Counsel General in Shanghai, Hussain Haider said a few Pakistani enterprises, specialising in jewellery design, furniture and artistic handicrafts will attend this year's Expo, while the traders and businessmen from Pakistan are not coming to China owing to travelling restrictions under the influence of COVID-19. A total of 350 companies from 33 countries, and more than 200 exhibitors will be displaying their products, while over 500 purchasers will be participating this year. CIIE has yielded fruitful outcomes in the last three events, and a successful Expo is also being expected this time. The theme of the Expo is to further open the Chinese market to the world. It is also expected that several biopharmaceutical and medical technology companies will display their innovations and products at the Expo for the first time. Foreign companies will showcase advanced and innovative technologies and products, especially related to medicine and healthcare, as it gained importance after the outbreak of COVID-19. Leading automobile groups will attend CIIE and showcase their newest products, technologies and solutions, especially the intelligent network, new energy vehicles and auto chips, whereas over 100 artworks from different parts of the world are expected to be exhibited at this year's event. According to a statement released by China's Ministry of Commerce, the exhibition area exceeds 360,000 square meters, and the number of signed exhibitors has exceeded that of the previous year. It says the industry-leading companies from last year's CIIE will participate again in this year's event. CIIE consist of four parts i.e., business exhibition, online country exhibition, the Hongqiao International Economic Forum and supporting activities.
