Pakistan expects China's relocation of labor intensive industries: CJP

ISLAMABAD, June 6 (INP) - Pakistan expects China to continue its support for the country, and China is welcome to increase investment, transfer labor-intensive industries to Pakistan and help it achieve economic independence. Mr. Justice Gulzar Ahmed Chief Justice of Pakistan said this during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing, Gwadar Pro reported. He said,  China and Pakistan enjoy a deep historical relationship and their relations have been tested by time. The Pakistani government has firmly promoted cooperation with China, and its friendship with China is deeply rooted in the hearts of the Pakistani people. He highly appreciated China's great achievements in combating the COVID-19 and thanked China for providing strong support for Pakistan's fight against the virus.

Talking about the severe challenges that the pandemic has brought to Pakistan's economic and social development, he said that Pakistan expects China to continue its support for the country.
"China is welcome to increase investment, transfer labor-intensive industries to Pakistan and help it achieve economic independence," he added.

He said, the Supreme Court of Pakistan is willing to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China in the field of justice, and make joint contributions to China-Pakistan relations and the "Belt and Road" development.

During the meeting, Ambassador Yao Jing introduced the latest progress of China-Pakistan anti-epidemic cooperation and bilateral relations, stressing that China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partners. China has always attached great importance to its relations with Pakistan.
China is willing to work with Pakistan to jointly address the challenges of the epidemic, actively promote cooperation in the construction of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and in social and people's livelihood and other fields, and work together to maintain regional peace and stability, he added.

The Chinese envoy further said that China appreciated Pakistan Supreme Court's active commitment to friendly cooperation between the two countries, and is willing to enhance judicial exchanges and mutual learning with Pakistan and make more efforts for the development of China-Pakistan relations.
