Pakistan earns $85m in two months through export of travel services

Pakistan earned $85.060 million by providing different travel services to various countries during the first two months of the current fiscal, WealthPK reports. According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the import of travel services from the country declined by 12.30% as compared to $96.994 million earned through the export services in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.During July and August of the current fiscal, the volume of personal travel services export decreased by 12.66% and dipped from $96.784 million in the same period of the previous year to $84.530 million.

The export of health-related travel services dipped by 32.73%. However, the export of education-related travel services increased by 0.68%. The export of other personal travel services witnessed a decrease of 12.75%. The PBS data shows that the export of business services grew by 152.38% from $0.210 million to $0.530 million.However, the export of services from the country witnessed an increase of 4.63% during the first three months of the current financial year as compared to the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

The volume of exports of services during the first quarter of the current fiscal was recorded at $1694.96 million against $1619.93 million in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal, showing a growth of 4.63%. The imports of the country witnessed a decline of 6.21%, falling from $2497.28 million in the first quarter of the previous fiscal to $2342.31 million during the same period in the current financial year, shows the data available with WealthPK.
