ISLAMABAD, 21 July: Pakistan collected $737.720 million by providing various transportation services to multiple nations during the first 11 months of the Fiscal Year 2021-22 compared to the last year's corresponding period, reported WealthPk.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan’s transport services exports grew by 47.83% year-on-year to $737.720 million during July-May 2021-22, from $499.020 million during the same period of the last fiscal year.
On year-on-year basis, transport services exports increased by 203.32% to $84.960 million in May 2022, from $28.01 million during the same month last year.
Similarly, transport services exports decreased by 2.32% to $84.960 month over month in May 2022, compared with $86.980 million in April 2022, according to the latest statistics released by PBS.
During the period under review, exports of sea transport services witnessed an increase of 65.87%, up from $70,290 million last year to $116.590 million during July-May 2021-22.
Among the sea transport services, exports of freight services increased by 144.52% from $31.890 million last year to $68.410 million whereas the exports of other sea transport services increased by 25.47% from $38.400 million to $48.180 million current year, the PBS data revealed.
On year-on-year basis, sea transport services exports increased by 186.79% to $12.160 million in May 2022, from $4.240 million during the same month last year.
On the other hand, sea transport services exports decreased by 8.30% to $12.160 month over month in May 2022, compared with $13.260 million in April 2022.
The exports of air transport rose by 26.07%, going up from $358.390 million last year to $451.820 million from July-May (2021-22).
Among the air transport services, the exports of passenger services increased by 48.90%, from $403.350 million to $600.600 million, whereas the exports of freight services dipped by 0.74%, from $27.190 million to $26.990 million. In addition, the export of other air transport services increased by 55.37% from $112.420 million to $174.670 million.
On year-on-year basis, air transport services exports increased by 220.14% to $71.520 million in May 2022, from 22.340 million during the same month last year.
Air transport services exports decreased by 0.33% to $71.520 million month over month in May 2022, compared with $71.760 million in April 2022.
Meanwhile, the road transport services exports during July-May 2021-22 under review witnessed a decline of 19.10%, down from $16.390 million to $13.2603 million during this year.
Among the road transport services, the exports of freight services decreased by 70.02%, from $12.010 million to $3.600 million during the fiscal year under review, while the export of postal and courier services also decreased by 19.13%, from $8.990 million to $7.270 million from July-May (2021-2022), the data revealed.
On year-on-year basis, road transport services exports from the country decreased by 6.17% to $760 million in May 2022, from $810 million during the same month last year.
On year-on-year basis, postal and courier services exports also decreased by 16.13% to $520 million in May 2022, from $620 million during the same month last year.
