Officials associated with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) are working day in and day out to help the flood-affected people.
According to a press statement issued by the BISP, available with WealthPK, the BISP management is monitoring the disbursement process at payment campsites in the areas where a large number of people are visiting. Efforts are being made to ensure fair and transparent payment of financial assistance.
The programme has distributed more than Rs23 billion among 924,063 families – 81pc of the total identified beneficiaries. The BISP staff is deputed at campsites and fully mobilized. As many as 112,485 affected families received Rs2,812,125,000 in Balochistan, 550,235 families Rs13,755,875,000 in Sindh, 114,077 families Rs2,851,925,000 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 147,266 families got Rs3,681,650,000 in Punjab by Sunday. A total of 5,691 people received their payments at these campsites.
Around 81.37pc of the total identified beneficiaries have been provided aid through 377 special campsites established across the flood-affected regions in the country. The affected families can send their CNIC numbers to 8171 for registration in the Flood Relief Cash Assistance programme and upon getting the payment message they can visit their nearby campsite to receive their payment. The administration has directed the staff to cooperate with the people in their respective regions.
