Pakistan had become the 11th largest poultry producer in the world and the sector employed over 1.5 million people, said the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS)’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad. He was addressing a three-day International Poultry Expo & Poultry Science Conference (IPEX- PSC) 2022 held for the promotion of the poultry sector in Pakistan. It was arranged by the Pakistan Poultry Association in collaboration with the UVAS.
Dr. Nasim Ahmad said the main objective of the conference was to provide a platform for bringing together academia, researchers, poultry farmers, professionals and industrialists to share their research work and learn from poultry farmers and current challenges. He said UVAS offered high-quality technical academic programmes and research activities focusing on healthy food production and economic development facilities.
During the conference, many experts delivered their lectures on different topics related to poultry health. The conference was attended by Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Prof Dr. Shahid Munir, Chairman IPEX Dr. Abdul Kareem Bhatti, Chief Organiser IPEX Dr. Asim Mahmood Khan and a large number of academicians from various universities, researchers, veterinarians, professionals, scientists from veterinary/animal sciences, medical sciences, public health, environmental sciences and stakeholders from poultry industries, teachers & students, national and international experts from different countries.
