Canberra, Nov, 5 (INP): Pakistan’s envoy for Australia Babar Amin highlighted various aspects of Pakistan’s foreign policy, explained the position, and underlined its enlarging convergence with Australia. He expressed the remarks in a Roundtable organized by Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) on Wednesday. He attended the Roundtable on the invitation of Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI).
On the occasion, the High Commissioner H.E. Mr. Babar Amin delivered a comprehensive yet succinct, keynote statement, encompassing broad-based issues of mutual interest, elaborating Pakistan’s point of view on several emerging political developments and on existing global challenges. The issues of foreign and security policy surrounding South Asia including Afghanistan, Pakistan-India relations, situation in Jammu and Kashmir as well as developments in South-East Asia and Oceania, were discussed in the session.
The statement was followed by an open discussion by the participants and a question and answers session with candid exchange of ideas.
ASPI is a renowned think tank based in Canberra specializing in research and reporting on issues of foreign and security policy. Mr. Michael Shoebridge, Director, Defence, Strategy & National Security, ASPI, moderated the meeting, whereas, the ASPI’s scholars, analysts, research fellows and publications staff participated in the interactive session.
