National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) organised a webinar to raise awareness among the power sector professionals and field workers about proper application of ‘Isolation and Permit to Work’ system to help control hazards to humans and equipment in case of an unexpected release of energy. The webinar was organised under the NEPRA’S drive ‘Power with Safety’ in collaboration with K-Electric, reports WealthPK. It was attended by health safety executive professionals and field staff from the power sector and NEPRA officials. The webinar was chaired by Naweed Illahi Shaikh, Director General (Admin/HR/CAD) of NEPRA.
Speaking on the occasion, Naweed Shaikh highlighted the importance of the webinar in connection with NEPRA’S vision of attaining zero-incidents in the power sector. He also stressed adopting international safety standards to curb fatalities and injuries to those on duty and the public at large. The webinar was also addressed by K-Electric Chief Executive Officer Moonis Alvi, who appreciated the NEPRA chairman’s keen interest in advocating, shaping, implementing and monitoring best safety practices across the power sector. He assured that K-Electric would keep on implementing such practices initiated under the NEPRA drive effectively.
