BEIJING, Nov. 14 (Xinhua) -- A total of 13 people were killed in China due to natural disasters in October, the Ministry of Emergency Management said.
The number of those who were killed or missing due to natural disasters went down 38 percent in October from the same period last year.
Natural disasters affected about 457,000 people in October, down 98 percent from the same period last year.
In October, typhoons, floods and geological disasters were the main natural disasters in the country in October, while hailstorms, earthquakes, cryogenic freezing and snow disasters also occurred, according to the ministry.
