ISLAMABAD, Aug 10 (INP): The session of National Assembly was adjourned for second consecutive day due to lack of quorum. On Thursday, when the National Assembly resumed its session a very low attendance of lawmakers was witnesses. Due to GT Road rally, only 17 treasury member were present in the house. An Opposition lawmaker pointed out quorum after which Speaker adjourned the house for a while. When the House again resumed it session after the interval, the quorum could not be completed. After that Speaker adjourned the house till August 17 , 2017. Earlier, the National Assembly offered fateha for army personnel who embraced martyrdom while foiling a terrorist activity in Dir. The members paid glowing tributes to the sacrifices of the security forces in the war on terror. They said the enemies are hatching conspiracies against Pakistan and the security forces deserve appreciation for thwarting their sordid designs. The National Assembly was informed today that Hajj and Umrah Service Management Bill 2017 is being prepared to bring the affairs of Umrah under the ministry of religious affairs. Responding to the queries of the members during question hour today, Parliamentary Secretary for Religious Affairs Khalil George said the bill will soon be laid before the house after consultation with the stakeholders. He also clarified that no Hajj quota has specifically been allocated for the parliamentarians this year. Minister for Ports and Shipping Hasil Khan Bizenjo told the house in a written reply that construction work on pilot phase of Gwadar Port Free Zone will be completed by December this year. Work on next phase will be started from January next year. He said the federal government has allowed twenty three years tax incentives to the investors registered in Gwadar port free zone. These include exemptions from paying federal taxes like import and export duties, sales tax, corporate income tax and federal excise duty. INP/AJ
