The imports of mobile phones have witnessed a decrease of 64.38% in the first two months of the current fiscal year (2022-23) as compared to the corresponding period of 2021-22. According to the latest data of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), Pakistan imported mobile phones worth $101.864 million in July-August 2022-23 compared to the imports of $285.947 million in the first two months of fiscal year 2021-22, showing a decline of 64.38%. On year-over-year basis, the imports of mobile phones witnessed a decline of 62.17% in August 2022 compared to the corresponding month of last year. Data shows that the imports of mobile phones in August 2022 were recorded at $63.060 million against the imports of $166.710 million in August 2021. However, on month-over-month basis, the imports of mobile phones increased by 62.51% in August 2022 compared to the imports of $38.804 million in July 2022.
