Shah Mahmood Qureshi, vice chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), claims that previous administrations ignored the IT industry and did not provide a favourable climate for its development. In this area, today's youths were more sophisticated than their predecessors. Speaking at an event called "Orientation Drive 2022: Education and Skills Together," organised by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), he noted that young people made up 65 percent of the population and held out hope for a better future. He urged the youngsters to set their destination through Information Technology (IT) for serving the country.
He recalled the PTI focused on the IT sector in its tenure for youth to earn at home by using it. Provincial Minister for IT Dr. Arsalan Khalid said people were equipping themselves with digital skills but education should not be compromised for it. He said the students were benefiting from E-Rozgaar schemes and added that they were formulating their syllabus keeping in view the demand for IT. Bahauddin Zakariya University VC Dr. Mansoor Kundi said the world had changed into a global village and each one of us was interconnected through this sector. He said education and skills were going side by side these days.
