The launch of two new rail cars between Lahore and Rawalpindi will not only benefit passengers but will also increase the revenue of the Pakistan Railways, WealthPK reports.
The new rail cars will help to reduce the rush of passengers travelling between Lahore and Rawalpindi. The rail cars have been started on the special instructions of Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique to provide the facility of a comfortable journey to passengers.
The first non-stop rail car departs from Lahore at 7:30 pm to Rawalpindi while the second train will leave from Lahore at 5 am to Rawalpindi. Both the trains comprise two AC business classes, two AC standard classes, five economy classes and one power van. The second train will stop at Gujranwala and Jhelum.
Passengers have welcomed the launch of the special rail cars and lauded Pakistan Railways for taking the initiative. Pakistan Railways is also planning to upgrade five major railway stations across the country on modern lines.
The upgradation of the railway stations will make them commercial hubs besides providing more convenience to passengers. The five major railway stations that will be upgraded include Karachi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Peshawar and Quetta, according to information available with WealthPK.
