The government of Pakistan has released PKR 4.21 billion for projects in the Information Technology (IT) sector. These funds have been released under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP 2022-23) for the fiscal year 2022-23. The government has authorized the use of development funds to the tune of PKR 4,211.21 million out of a total allocation of PKR 5,731.70 million for the timely completion of projects in the IT sector.

Last year, the total amount authorized by the government to be spent on the same development projects was PKR 3,487.32 million for the same months of July through October. As per the disbursement mechanism of the Planning Commission, 20% of the funds will be released in the first quarter (July through September), 30% in the second and third quarters and finally the remaining 20% in the last quarter (April through June).
