Federal Secretary for Housing and Works Iftikhar Ali Shallwani said the construction sector is the biggest provider of jobs, as several other industries are attached to it. He expressed these views while chairing a meeting of the First International Housing Expo-2022 that is going to be held in November this year.

The Ministry of Housing and Works will be the lead organizer of the event in collaboration with other relevant ministries, agencies, organizations and authorities. Shallwani said everyone has the fundamental right to safe housing; therefore, the Ministry of Housing and Works intends to organize the international expo to help achieve the purpose.

During the meeting, different themes came under consideration along with various sessions that will be held in the event. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate the expo. Minimum reliance will be made on government resources and its financial support will be acquired through sponsors and partners.

Different stalls will be placed by the FGEHA, PHAF and the country’s major builders and developers. During the course of meeting, the secretary constituted different committees and assigned them various tasks. Shahzad Nawaz Cheema, Joint Secretary for Housing, will head all the committees.
