ISLAMABAD, Aug 17 (INP-WealthPK): China’s leading technology firm Huawei has offered its full cooperation to develop technology sector in Pakistan.

The Huawei management said that the tech firm’s ethos is its belief in openness and knowledge-sharing.

The management told WealthPK that Huawei is using a three-pronged strategy of "Cloud-Pipe-Device" to provide comprehensive solutions to telecommunications carriers, enterprises and customers in Pakistan. It said Huawei aims to openly collaborate with the public and private sectors to create an information and communication technology (ICT) ecosystem which drives forward digital transformation and supports the Government of Pakistan vision to move towards a diversified and knowledge-based economy.

Huawei’s three-pronged strategy is a state-of-the-art tech solution to provide comprehensive digital transformation to telecommunication carriers, enterprises and clients, to expand the horizons of telecommunication industry and to contribute to the development and rise of the ICT industry.

Recently, Huawei launched smart solutions for Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL). The initiative will provide enterprises with smart ICT services that are completely secure and reliable through one-window operations.

As part of their mission to build a fully connected and intelligent world, the PTCL group and Huawei pledged to contribute to digital empowerment to help realize the vision of Digital Pakistan.

Huawei and Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) are already working together in cloud computing. The Chinese tech giant will enable its cloud service in all the affiliated public departments related to information technology (IT) and IT enabled services (ITeS) of the PSEB at subsidized rates.

According Huawei Annual Report 2021, Huawei Cloud is the world’s fastest growing major cloud service provider and continues to empower industries. It has launched more than 220 cloud services and 210 solutions, and attracted over 30,000 partners and 2.6 million developers worldwide. More than 6,100 applications are now available on the Huawei Cloud marketplace.

The report says that Huawei is building strengths in the ICT infrastructure characterized by device-network cloud collaboration. Huawei has stepped up efforts to create a digital ecosystem where all players create and share value together in order to help industries.

“Over 700 cities and 267 Fortune Global 500 companies worldwide have chosen Huawei as their partner for digital transformation,” the report says.

Huawei plans to invest $100 million in 2022 to expand the Huawei Cloud Developer Program and bring more services and benefits to developers in China. So far, 70,000 Huawei cloud developers have obtained Huawei Cloud career certifications among 2.6 million developers. It has already developed over 8,000 solutions. In terms of talent cultivation, it has developed over 200 Huawei Cloud courses through partnerships with more than 70 leading Chinese universities.
